Sustainable Business Case Study

Professional training to change the world

This asynchronous course was created from a curriculum "Making the Business Case for Sustainability" generated by a global sustainability partnership.

A groundbreaking curriculum

Impactful Sustainability: Working with a curriculum developed by Prof. Tensie Whelan, the director of the NYU Stern Center for Sustainable Business, and former president of The Rainforest Alliance, I was tasked with managing the development and production of a 13 module asynchronous training course for sustainability professionals.

A Global View: The stakeholders included the foundation of FEMSA a large multi-national bottler based in Mexico and a leading sustainable business consulting firm. It was sponsored by an international sustainable business non-profit.

An international collaboration

A powerful new methodology

New Values: The core of the course was a proven methodology for assigning monetary value to sustainable business practices previously considered subjective. The learning outcome was that students could demonstrate a proficiency to make a monetary business case for a complex sustainable business proposal.

Powerful Tools: I oversaw the development team working in Articulate 360 to create a fully asynchronous training course that collected learning effectiveness data and provided meaningful feedback to the learners.
